Our Programs

Master Gardener volunteers serve as horticulture educators within our communities. Within Surry County, MGVs provide research-based horticulture information through the following programs.

Booths

booth

Surry County Extension MGVs setup & staff booths at public events including Farmers Markets (Dobson, Elkin, and Mount Airy), Agricultural Fairs & Festivals, and at the biannual Mount Airy Blooms.

The purpose of an MGV booth at a public event is:

  • To answer gardening questions
  • To promote sound gardening techniques which help to protect public health and the environment
  • To inform people about the Extension Master Gardener program and the services we provide

For more information about Surry County Farmers Markets (locations, dates, times), visit the Surry County Farmers Market webpage.

For other events at which Master Gardener volunteers will set up education booths, please visit our "Events" page.
